CONSTITUTION OF THE TAMU NAVIGATORS


Article I Name of Organization
This student organization shall be know as the T.A.M.U. Navigators
Article II Purpose
The purpose will be to further students in developing a knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ, to give a practical understanding of the Bible, to make disciples of all nations, and to teach them to go and do likewise. Our motto is 'to know Christ and to make Him known.
Article III Membership

Section I.
Membership is open to all Texas A&M students who show an active and positive interest in our purpose.

Section II.
Members who do not respond positively to the standards and values upheld by this organization will be asked to meet personally with a team leader in the organization. If the individual does not respond in a reasonable amount of time, they will be asked to refrain from participation in any meetings or activities.

Article IV Officers

Section I. Requirements for Officers

Undergraduates: The officers of this organization must meet the following requirements: (a) have at least a 2.25 overall GPR for the preceding regular semester of the two preceding summer terms at the time of election and during the term or office;  (b) be in good standing with the University and enrolled in at least six credit hours in a regular semester during the term of office; and  (c) be subject to removal from office be the organization and/or the organization's official University advisor should the students who are officers of this organization fail to meet the requirements as prescribed in (a) and (b).
Graduates: Graduate students who are officers of this organization must meet the following requirements: (a) have at least a 3.0 overall GPR at the time of their election, and have at least a 3.0 GPR over their degree plan if it has been submitted and post at least a 3.0 GPR for the preceding regular semester or two preceding summer terms at the time of election and during term of office; (b) be in good standing with the University and enrolled in at least one credit hour in a regular semester during the term of office; and (c) be subject to removal from office by the organization and/or the organization's official University advisor should the student fail to maintain the requirements as prescribed in (a) and (b).

Section II. Officers and Duties
The officers of this organization shall be the President and Treasurer. Their duties shall be those usually performed by such officers along with being team members and helping maintain direction in the movement consistent with the Navigators' purpose as described in Article II.

Section III. Election Process
The officers shall be appointed from the active membership by the Central Leadership Team at an annual meeting.

Section IV.
An officer who (a) fails to perform his/her duties in a manner satisfactory to the advisor or the central team leaders or (b) does not uphold the values and standards of the TAMU organization, will be contacted by the advisor and asked to resign his/her office.

Article V Meetings

Section I.
Regular meetings shall be held on Thursday nights in Koldus 110/111. If Koldus 110/111 should not be available, the president shall make appropriate arrangements and give notice at least one week in advance.

Section II.
Special meetings may be called by the Central Team Leaders at anytime.

Section III.
A quorum of half the members should be present to conduct a meeting.

Article VI Finances

Section I.
Dues will not be collected from members of this organization.

Section II.
All monies belonging to this organization shall be deposited and disbursed through bank account established for this organization at the Student Organization Finance Center. All funds must be deposited within 24 hours after collection. The advisor to this organization must approve and sign each expenditure before payment.

Article VII Amendments
This Constitution may be amended anytime by the Central Team Leaders, subject to the approval of the director of student activities.
Article VIII Advisors
Section I.
The advisor to the TAMU Navigators shall be a Texas A&M University employee as defined by the Human Resources Department. The advisor will be wiling to obtain an appropriate level of experience, resource information and knowledge related to the mission, purpose and activities of the club.
The advisor will attend meetings and his/her discretion. He/she will be available for consultation outside of these meetings
The advisor will assist the organization with the development of goals and objectives for the academic year. The advisor will also assist the organization with event planning and facilitation. When necessary, the advisor will be willing to attend events as identified through the planning process.
The advisor will be aware of the University Student Rules and will assist the organization with adherence to these expectations.
